Organisers say an Islamic centre planned for Douglas will unify its congregation and mean it doesn't have to rent other premises.
The Isle of Man Islamic Association has applied for planning permission to convert a building on Finch Road in the capital into a centre for worship and community events.
In its application, the organisation says up to 50 people would use the building for prayers on Fridays, although that number could rise to 60 during Ramadan.
As well as a planning application, the Association has also applied for registered building permission to improve accessibility.
