Could the Island soon see 'cost of living' press conferences?
A local MHK has asked the Chief Minister and Treasury Minister if they'd consider the idea.
It comes following Jason Moorhouse - MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew spotting the suggestion on social media by local man - James Corrin.
Mr Corrin says the Island has a 'serious situation' with inflation and the cost of living crisis - and thinks its necessary both Alfred Cannan and Dr Alex Allinson hold a press conference 'like they did over Covid'.
In response, Mr Moorhouse says he's pitched the idea to both Mr Cannan and Dr Allinson - adding local people 'really do deserve to know what government has done and what's being considered.'
Yesterday, government said it's making "good progress" on a package of support measures to help people with the spiralling cost of living.
The third big gas price rise, in less than 12 months, is due to come into force from September 1 - alongside soaring inflation levels.
The MHK says there seems to be a 'huge void' and people seem to have 'little awareness' of why the next support package is so far away and being devised in such a secretive manner.
3FM has contacted Mr Moorhouse for comment.
