After talks with the UK, the Isle of Man will be included in The Paris Agreement along with almost the rest of the world.
Nearly 200 countries signed the agreement in 2015 to commit to combating climate change.
The Isle of Man, and other Crown Dependencies, have been approved as our climate change goals are in line with the obligations of the treaty.
Daphne Caine MHK, Chair of the Climate Change Transformation Board, is representing the Island at Cop26 this week, and says this extension clearly demonstrates the Isle of Man's commitment to build on the hard work that is already underway.
The Paris Agreement, which underpins the UN’s crucial #COP26 #ClimateTalks, will be extended to the #IsleofMan. The approval of the Island's request, and those from the other Crown Dependencies, was announced by Greg Hands MP in Glasgow on Thursday. 👉 https://t.co/kuEe1qEEI6 pic.twitter.com/s5v0ZnQ37F
