The Isle of Man Ship Registry is 'deeply saddened' to confirm the death of one person following the sinking of Verity.
The Manx registered cargo ship went down following a collision off the German coast early this morning.
Two seafarers have been rescued by the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service and transferred to hospital for emergency treatment - they're currently reported as doing well.
The Registry says the search still continues for four more missing people, and will provide further information when available.
