The Department for Enterprise says it wants to increase the amount of money you can be awarded if you're made redundant.
Minister Tim Johnston faced a question for written reply from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about the payouts.
Mr Johnston said at present the maximum payment in the Isle of Man is lower than in the UK or Republic of Ireland because of figures and formulas we use here.
But he said he was hoping to update the law soon with new legislation expected this Autumn.
