The Island hopes to welcome 500,000 visitors each year by 2032.
That figure comes from Enterprise Minister Dr Alex Allinson - following a question in Tynwald earlier this week.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse had asked what actions are being taken to ensure there is sufficient tourist accommodation and infrastructure for 500,000 visitors each year.
Dr Allinson revealed the Visit Isle of Man Agency had developed an 'ambitious 10 year strategy' with the Island’s tourist sector.
He stated 'the aim is to welcome 500,000 visitors annually by 2032' - to achieve this, Visit IOM says it'll work to secure 500 new and transformed bedrooms and 500 new units of accommodation in the next 11 years.
Further, they'll work to develop local restaurants, attractions and businesses to establish the Island as a destination of choice.
The full Strategy will be presented to Tynwald Members in early 2022.
