Chief Minister Alf Cannan says the government wouldn't welcome a new nuclear waste dump near Sellafield - but isn't part of the decision-making process.
He was asked about the proposals by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse in Tynwald this week.
Mr Cannan said the government had been informed of the plans, but added they were a matter for the UK government.
But he said the Island's views would be relayed to Westminster:
