The Manx government has pledged to bring derelict and vacant buildings back into use, as part of its vision for the future.
It is just one of many targets outlined in the recently published, Island Plan- a blueprint setting out the new Manx government's priorities for the next five years.
It sets out policies to tackle the housing crisis on the island - an issue deemed to be a key issue in September's general election.
The average cost of a house on the island has surged in recent months leaving some first-time buyers struggling to get onto the property ladder.
A local housing charity is also said to be facing "unprecedented demand" for its services.
Our new political administration now says it will "proactively tackle issues of affordability and homelessness".
A proposal to establish a housing and communities board is also being considered to ensure housing is accessible, secure and affordable.
