The Isle of Man Freemasons have donated £1,000 to St John Ambulance to support the services it provides.
The money was raised in memory of Freddie Wright, a Freemason from Liverpool who would visit Manx people in hospital when their family members couldn't be there.
Martin Blackburn, the Island's Provincial Grand Master, says often Freddie was the only visitor Manx patients would get, and he would give his time to help people who were strangers to him.
The donation will help the Community First Responders to keep up their service to the community.
