Analysis work is currently being undertaken to see if silt from Peel Marina can be dumped at sea.
That's according to the Department of Infrastructure which is working with the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to find an appropriate site.
The DOI is preparing to dredge 7,000 tons from the marina this spring in order to prevent a build up of silt forcing the closure of a number of vessel berths.
