Isle of Man Meats says it's investigating after a bull escaped and had to be shot.
On Facebook, the Tromode-based company says despite the best efforts of its staff, the animal couldn't be safely captured.
In its post it says such incidents are extremely rare and a full internal review is now being held to prevent similar incidents in future.
And it adds the facility is committed to the highest standards of safety and animal welfare.
