Inquests opened into deaths of sidecar racer and visiting biker

Coroner of Inquests urges safer riding and driving on the roads, saying there\'s been too many fatal incidents

The inquests have been opened and adjourned today into the deaths of both sidecar racer Kevin James Morgan and visiting biker Anthony John Capstick.

The Coroner of Inquests began with the death of 59 year old Shrewsbury racer Kevin James Morgan; he along with partner Bill Currie were killed at Ballacrye during a practice session on the 31st May.

The Coroner ruled that Kevin died due to multiple injuries sustained as a result of a road traffic incident.

He leaves behind two sons.

36-year-old Anthony John Capstick from North Yorkshire sustained major injuries when his bike went into a hedge at Graham’s Memorial on the Mountain Road last Friday.

He suffered a brain stem infarction and died the following day in Nobles Hospital.

The Coroner concluded the inquest by asking for safer riding and driving on the roads saying there have been far too many fatal incidents off the course throughout this TT.
