An inmate was found dead at the Island's Prison last week.
The Department of Home Affairs confirmed the news in a statement to 3FM earlier today.
The inmate was found on Friday (February 24) with investigations currently on-going.
The matter has been referred to the Coronor of Inquests, with the department adding ' Thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.'
