Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says major roadworks aren't done in isolation by his department.
During this week's House of Keys sitting he faced questions about work from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He asked whether a DOI policy of trying to combine roadworks where possible had been dropped.
But Mr Crookall said in the case of major work, his department did ask other bodies if they had plans to dig up the same stretch:
