The Department of Infrastructure says the cost of answering Freedom of Information requests has halved over the past three years.
An FOI request to the department asked how much it spent answering the queries from members of the Manx public.
In its response, the DOI said it couldn't give figures for responding to individual request.
But it revealed answering the questions cost £95,000 in 2021, just under £60,000 in 2022 and less than £44,000 last year.
