Onchan Commissioners have announced a rates rise of almost twice the rate of inflation for residents.
The local authority says the rise of more than 10 percent will mean people pay 411 pence in the pound in the coming year.
In December, government figures showed inflation stood at 5.2 per cent.
The board blames the rise on high inflation and rising waste and wage costs - adding it'll dip into its savings to help make ends meet.
