Some school teachers will start industrial action short of strike from midnight tonight.
It involves members of school leaders’ union NAHT, which represents leaders in every school on the Island.
Members of two unions NAHT and ASCL will participate.
At a union meeting on Tuesday 28 January, Paul Whiteman, NAHT general secretary, said: 'The strength of feeling of school leaders and teachers on the island is clear. Enough is enough. Now is the time for action.'
It follows an official ballot in which 96 per cent of NAHT school leader members voted they would be prepared to take industrial action short of strike, and 87 per cent said they were prepared to strike.
It comes after a meeting at Braddan Church earlier this week - where hundreds of members discussed how to move forward.
Education unions have been in dispute with the DESC since the beginning of 2019.
