An independent inquiry will take place into the collision between Steve Mercer and a course car during this year's racing festival.
Organisers of the TT - ACU Events Ltd announced the news earlier this week.
The 36-year-old was involved in a collision at Ballacyre on Wednesday, May 30 and was transferred to hospital in Liverpool - where he still remains.
The organisers have confirmed lawyer and former chief executive of the Motorsports Association Rob Jones will lead the investigation.
Police and other Island authorities are currently investigating the incident.
ACU also confirmed it's currently providing financial assistance to Mercer's family, so his wife can stay near Liverpool hospital while he receives treatment.
