Douglas South MHK Kate Costain will put that question to Health Minister, David Ashford MHK, when the House of Keys meets tomorrow.
Miss Costain also wants to know what legislation needs to be brought in before any appointment can be made.
MHK's will convene in Douglas on Tuesday from 10am.
