A public consultation on offering weight loss injections through the NHS is still being considered according to Cabinet Office Minister David Ashford.
He says while GLP-1 medicines are transforming obesity treatment, any NHS scheme must include proper assessment, lifestyle support and clear eligibility criteria.
Public Health is reviewing the evidence, local demand and whether the Island's healthcare system has the capacity and staffing to deliver the service sustainably.
Mr Ashford also stressed the need for robust governance, particularly as many people are currently accessing weight loss drugs through private providers and online prescriptions.
