Manx Utilities says banning dog walking around reservoirs is not something it would want to do.
It comes as the organisation is receiving an increased number of complaints about the state of pathways and verges around the Island's water sites.
It adds the issue is due to dog walkers not picking up after their pets.
The public is asked to look after these areas 'for the benefit of everyone.'
