Importance of northern marine reserve to be highlighted

Ramsey's marine reserve will be celebrated this month in a bid to raise awareness of its importance to the Isle of Man.

The reserve covers 94 square kilometres and contains significant areas of kelp forests, eelgrass meadows and horse mussel reefs as well as a host of other creatures and plants. 
 
It was established five years ago by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to help protect and boost biodiversity.
 
DEFA, along with the Manx Wildlife Trust, will be hosting nine days of events from July 9th including fun days, expert lectures, beach cleans and rock pooling.
