The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it's investigated 169 reports of dumped controlled waste in the past five years.
A Freedom of Information request asked about fly-tipping and unlicensed waste sites since 2022.
The department said last year it had 41 such reports - more than twice as many as it had the previous year.
So far this year, 10 such incidents have been reported to it.
