A petition against Peel commissioners taking the lease of the town's sailing clubhouse and putting it out to tender has attracted hundreds of signatures.
Two weeks ago, it was revealed the board would end the tenancy of Peel Sailing and Cruising Club when the lease expires in 2028.
The local authority claims it needs to refurbish the building - something the club disputes.
An online petition set up at the weekend has already reached 350 signatures, with many voicing their dissatisfaction with board members.
