Almost a thousand islanders got their booster vaccination on Saturday.

The figures come from the Manx government after a series of walk-in clinics were established to ramp up the island's vaccination programme.

Hundreds of people queued at Chester Street in Douglas on Saturday for the first clinic.

The government has thanked everyone in the vaccination team for their hard work.

The walk-in clinics continue every day this week.

WALK-IN CLINIC DETAILS

-They are being held at the Chester Street hub in Douglas.

-There will be two different entrances - one for those attending appointments and one for those attending as a walk-in.

-They are open to anyone aged 40 and over and those who are medically vulnerable regardless of whether they already have an appointment.

-The extra slots are in addition to existing appointments.

-There is no need to cancel a booked appointment, those who wish to retain their pre-booked appointments can do so.

-While plenty of vaccine will be available each day, booked appointments will take priority.
