Yesterday’s serious floods are sure to leave a major impact in the Department of Infrastructure’s already strained budget.
Last year the DoI had to spend big to offset the damage left in the wake of the major snowfall in March.
The last major flood incident left the department with an £8 million bill.
Minister David Cretney anticipates it will be another major sum, but says they always have to factor in unforeseen circumstances like this:
Forecast high winds cancel three ferries
New Iranian ruler tied to Manx-registered company
Temporary speed limits around TT course from this week
Government considers laws for BYOB events
Police warn about bad behaviour in school - by parents
