Householders told to lock up or face insurance problems

Police are appealing to residents to lock their homes after a spate of domestic burglaries in the last three months.

Since July 17 properties have been targeted - in most cases they had been left insecure. 
 
Force crime prevention officer Mike Radcliffe told us it's important householders remember to take basic precautions to protect their property.  
 
He says people should also ensure they have the correct locks on their doors for insurance purposes:
