European workers will be exploited by efforts to increase the hospitality workforce on the Isle of Man.
That's the view of Unite the Union which says it disagrees with the Department of Economic Development's decision to relax work permit rules for the sector.
It says making it easier to recruit non-local workers is simply a "try before you buy six month period of exploitation".
Instead the union is calling on the department to work to eradicate the poor terms and conditions which it says are in place within the sector.
Regional officer Eric Holmes says the roles aren't fit for local workers:
