Manx Utilities has made the announcement, saying anyone who breaches the rules by watering their private gardens or washing cars could face a hefty fine of up to £2,000.
It comes after 301 hours of sunshine were recorded during last month making it the third sunniest May locally on record and the driest in 12 years.
The last hosepipe ban came in August 2018 before being lifted again on September 24 of that year.
