Two teenagers who travelled around the Island stealing from honesty boxes have been ordered to pay compensation.
17-year-old Vince Alan Burgess and 18-year-old Niall William Martin - who are from Ramsey and Douglas respectively - were sentenced at Douglas Courthouse last week.
The duo, from Bowring Road and Spring Valley, had previously admitted three charges of theft from October 25th last year.
In the early hours of the morning the pair drove around the Island using a hammer to break into collection boxes situated at farms in Patrick, Sulby and Andreas.
The incidents were caught on CCTV - afterwards police said their actions had successfully damaged trust within local communities.
Magistrates imposed a six month Probation Order on both teenagers - Martin was also ordered to pay compensation of £89.50 and costs of £50.
Burgess, who'd admitted a further charge of damaging property from November, was ordered to pay £419.50 in compensation and court costs of £50.
