Homeless Charity Kemmyrk have been speaking to 3FM about the difficulties they face carrying out their valuable service without the aid of financial backing.
Kemmyrk serve the needs of people over the age of 16 who find themselves homeless, having to assist people as old as 80, and they do it funded solely by fundraising and donations.
They currently receive no backing from the Government and with no Homelessness Act in place they have no responsibility to provide accommodation for those needing it.
Projects Manager Fiona Robinson has said they endeavour to sort residence for people as soon as possible, as this is an
effective way of stopping more problems further down the line.
With the service costing £10,000 a month to run however this could become increasingly more difficult without more permanent
support.
