The island's new Lieutenant governor will be sworn in today at Castle Rushen.
Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer succeeds Sir Richard Gozney.
Sir John served in the British Army for 39 years, in a career which includes tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As Lieutenant Governor, he will be the Queen's personal representative and impartial adviser on the Island until 2026.
The Island’s top judge, First Deemster Andrew Corlett said: "It will be a privilege to swear in the island’s next Lieutenant Governor in such an historic setting".
A number of roads will be closed today as the ceremony takes place.

Between 13:00 and 16:00 BST there will be closures on Castle Quay, Castle Street, Parliament Square, George Lane, Market Square and Malew Street.
