Five cycle-friendly lanes and 100 metres of boardwalk through wetlands will be part of the Island's Heritage Trail.
That's according to the Department of Infrastructure which has provided an update on how work on the route is progressing.
Officials are asking the public to respect closures on the path whilst work continues - the trail remains accessible outside of working hours between Peel and Crosby.
The DOI also says equipment to slow bicycles down will be installed where gates have been removed, and the majority of the route will be resurfaced with recycled quarry material.
