Members of the public are being asked to help stop the spread of the norovirus.
The Department of Health has confirmed that cases of the bug which causes diarrhoea and vomiting have increased in the last two to three weeks.
Leaflets and posters have now been prepared to raise awareness and detail ways of preventing the spread of the illness.
In previous years outbreaks have resulted in the closure of hospital wards and care homes.
