A new stop smoking campaign will run throughout the next month.
Stoptober was officially launched across the UK yesterday, with the Island’s public health team on hand here to offer help and guidance for smokers wishing to kick the habit.
The Island’s pubs and clubs have been smoke free now since 2008, resulting in a slight decline in overall smoking numbers.
As it stands 19 per cent of the population are smokers, with men aged between 23 and 35 the biggest offenders.
