A group of Manx health and social care workers have voiced their concerns about the proposed Assisted Dying Bill.
'Manx Duty of Care' says there is a danger it could permit people with treatable conditions to request assistance in dying.
It adds that it's 'extremely difficult to determine terminal illness prognoses with certainty,' and allowing healthcare professionals to administer euthanasia would 'fundamentally change the relationship between physicians and patients.'
The group is also concerned that vulnerable and elderly people will feel obliged to consider assisted dying so as not to burden their loved ones.
The Bill, put forward by Dr Alex Allinson, is due for its second reading in the House of Keys later this month.
