Students and staff at Ballakermeen high school were in a state of shock yesterday upon hearing the sad news that a popular sixth former had passed away.

Jack Morrisson has been described as a well-loved popular pupil who had a keen interest in music and a great deal of promise.
It was revealed that he had been battling illness for a short time.
He died in a hospital in Liverpool; as yet no more details about his illness have been released.
Grief counselling was offered to students yesterday and a quiet area for reflection was set up.
Ballakermeen Head Teacher Adrienne Burnett has said they have sent their best wishes and prayers to Jack’s family.
