Have Government been too generous with benefits, asks Treasury Minister

Treasury Minister Anne Craine has asked the question, can the next government afford to continue to be so generous with benefits.

Speaking about universal benefits Minister Craine conceded they are essential for some people however others may be able to get by without them.

She said it’s a time where Government need to be looking seriously at their budgets and where any money can be saved.

The Ramsey MHK has asked if the current system will be sustainable into the future.
