Two government departments have launched a campaign to improve oil pollution reporting.
The Department of Infrastructure and Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is raising awareness among boat owners, the general public, and visitors to highlight prevention tips and signpost incident reporting.
Guidelines have been published for harbour users, including recreational and fishing fleets, to ensure harbour conservation and signs will provide information on pollution prevention and the legal consequences of not undertaking effective action.
The guidelines can be found here.
