That's the message from Garff Commissioners, who say they fear the government's pushing for a fortnightly all-Island collection service.
At a board meeting last week, members discussed their response to a public consultation about waste management.
The local authority says its refuse contractor provides an excellent service with effectively zero complaints from residents - and members said the service would suffer if control was handed over to central government.
