A Douglas woman will be sentenced next month after punching a police officer in the face.
31-year-old Caroline Diane Kelly, of Urley Path in Anagh Coar, struck the officer as he was trying to arrest her on June 10th.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday she pleaded guilty to assault, being drunk and disorderly and displaying disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
The court heard Kelly had been asked to leave The Outback nightclub on Barrack Street after an altercation in which a glass collector was assaulted.
Police spotted her outside, just before 1.30am, and noted she was agitated - they asked her to leave the area but she began shouting and swearing.
Kelly then lashed out at the officer striking him in the face - the force of the punch knocked his helmet onto the other side of the street.
PAVA spray had to be used to incapacitate her, and in interview afterwards Kelly said she had no recollection of the incident.
A social enquiry report will be compiled before she's sentenced on August 21st - she's been bailed until that date.
