A Port Erin man will be sentenced next month after calling police officers to his mother's home and then becoming abusive towards them.
30-year-old Michael James Watterson, of Ballakilley Close, admitted displaying provoking behaviour during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday.
Watterson called 999 just after 5.30pm on December 30th claiming an altercation was taking place at an address in Port Erin.
When officers arrived Watterson was drunk and became verbally abusive - he was also overheard saying: "I'll go and get a hammer."
The prosecutor told the court: "He was simply aggressive and difficult to deal with," revealing it took four officers, and the use of PAVA spray, to detain him.
A Social Enquiry Report will be compiled before Watterson is sentenced on March 7th - he's been bailed until that date.
