The latest passenger survey published by the Economic Affairs Division of the Cabinet Office this week recorded a rise of 2,487 people visiting Manx shores last year.
He added the levels of those staying in paid accommodation is approaching levels seen in 2000 prior to the foot and mouth outbreak and that years TT cancellation.
Visitor spend also rose to £489 per visitor on average, with Chair of Visit IOM, Ranald Caldwell, saying the statistics are 'clear indicators that we are moving in the right direction'.
