A group of Manx students will be jetting off to Silicon Valley in California after they got into the final round of a major global entrepreneurial competition.
It’s the first time that The Conrad Foundation’s Spirit of Innovation Awards have been extended to the Isle of Man.
Eight Manx students will head to NASA’s Research Centre in April.
There are three teams from the Island, Kinergy from QE2, Lennox Aerospace from Ballakermeen, and Team Pe-U from St Ninian’s and the Isle of Man college.
They were set the task of designing a product that could solve the challenges of living in the 21st Century, with their entries ranging from aerospace exploration to cyber-security.
When out in California the finalists will be competing to receive a Grant of $5000.
They’ll be up against 480 others from around the world.
