Local churches have responded to the proposed Assisted Dying Bill, saying they 'do not support any changes to the law.'
Churches Alive in Mann represent all of the main Christian Churches on the Island, and have issued a statement in response to the consultation.
They believe the 'dangers the proposed legislation poses to so many vulnerable people far outweigh the benefits of autonomous choice for a few.'
The group adds the law would lead some people to think they should end their life to relieve burden on others, and that bringing in this legislation would turn us into a 'less compassionate society.'
Churches Alive in Mann 'affirm the enormous value of all lives and stands opposed to the legalising of assisted dying on the Isle of Man.'
