Sustainable energy solutions have been installed at the tearooms at Groudle Glen Railway.
It was funded by a £8,500 grant from the Manx Lottery Trust, and means the building can be powered purely from solar power and storage batteries.
The Sea Lion Rocks Tea Rooms is in a remote spot with no access to mains water, sewerage and mains power.
The new technology will power the CCTV, café when in operation, and fridge and freezer when the building is closed.
