The owner of a landmark building in Onchan has applied to take it off the register of protected buildings.
Anna Kawalek says she wants to demolish the Groudle Glen Hotel on King Edward Road, building five homes in its place.
She says the building, attributed to renowned designer Baillie Scott, can't be sold and refurbishing it would likely cost more than a million pounds.
In her application, she adds there's no documentary evidence that Scott designed the building and it should now be pulled down and replaced.
