Gritters out, ferries cancelled

Gritters are back out on the Island's roads this morning.

The Department of Infrastructure says crews have been out since 5am treating the Island's main roads.

This morning, all roads are open except the Tholt-y-Will Road and the road from Brandywell to Barregarrow.

All schools will also be open as usual today after closing yesterday.

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice from Ronaldsway Met Office runs until 2pm today.

Meanwhile, the Steam Packet Company says gales in the Irish Sea mean the 8.45am Ben-my-Chree sailing to Heysham and her return trip at 2.15pm have both had to be called off.
