Director of Nurses at Abbotswood Nursing Home Speaks to 3FM
3FM have been speaking to the Director of Nurses at the home of rest where Sir Norman Wisdom lived out his final years.
Zandra Lewis told us that he was a much loved resident at the home who relished the opportunity to ammuse his fellow residents and the staff alike.
He would routinely play the piano to entertain his friends in the home, and loved being taken out on a car trip to see the Island he loved so much.
He passed away peacefully in the home yesterday aged 95, he'd been declining in health since suffering a series of strokes over the past 6 months.
Zandra said there is a real sense of loss felt throughout the home today.
