A Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Department of Education, Sport and Culture has been appointed.
Graham Kinrade will be responsible for more than 2,300 staff and a budget of £115 million.
He joined the department as a teacher in 1987 and progressed to hold roles including head teacher and school improvement adviser.
Mr Kinrade will begin his role with immediate effect.
The Department is responsible for 32 primary schools, 5 secondary schools, the Island's college and the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre.
